250 employees begin training

October 19, 2004 - The American Bank Center is in the process of filling 250 part-time industry professional positions¯ ushers, ticket takers, security/crowd control, concierge, parking attendants and more are being training at this very moment to serve vital roles in the successful operations of the venue.
“Each person, each job is critical to our success,” said Marc Solis, American Bank Center general manager.“For some folks, their first encounter with the American Bank Center begins with the parking attendants. As patrons make their way inside they come upon ticket takers while ushers are taking people to their specific seats. They set our image.”
These industry professionals will be hired to perform not one, but various duties between facility and events including serving as ticket takers and ushers disturbing programs and escorting patrons to their appropriate seats, assist with last minute pre-event needs, provide special accommodations for physically handicapped patrons and act as a parking attendant by directing traffic and ensuring security.
College students, retirees, professionals and more will be among the 250 local individuals being affected by the rapid growth of the center.
“We also hired and are hiring a lot of individuals with full-time jobs who are looking for added income for their families,” Solis said. “In addition, many people simply want to be a part of Corpus Christi history.”
