May 25, 2005 - You have waited 18 years to get to this day, so don’t waste another moment waiting in traffic. Know that on Thursday, you’ll have one less thing to worry about if you take the RTA Bayfront Express to graduation ceremonies at the American Bank Center.
Gregory-Portland, Flour Bluff, and Calallen high schools will hold their commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 26, 2005. Thousands of families and friends are expected to pour into the American Bank Center Arena, Convention Center and Selena Auditorium for the three ceremonies that evening.
Thursday, May 26, 2005 Graduation Ceremonies:
Flour Bluff High School
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Convention Center Exhibit Hall
Calallen High School
Time: 8:00 p.m.
Location: American Bank Center Arena
Gregory-Portland High School
Time: 8:00 p.m.
Location: Selena Auditorium
In effort to help ease the commute for patrons, the RTA Bayfront Express will run a shuttle service from the Nueces County Courthouse on 901 Leopard Street to the American Bank Center. The service will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. and will end 30 minutes after the conclusion of the last graduation. Parking is free at the Nueces County Courthouse, and there is a $2 fee to ride the shuttle. Students and senior citizens can ride for only $1; children under 5 ride free. The drive takes about three minutes and gives people one less thing to worry about on this important day.
The RTA Bayfront Express will not run from its usual location at the Memorial Coliseum because of the Velocity Games. For more details about the RTA Bayfront Express please call the RTA at (361) 289-2600.
