June 14, 2005 - Only the unmistakable voice of Vicente Fernandez could do justice to the world of ranchero music live at the American Bank Center Arena on Friday, November 18. Ana Barbara known as “The Queen of Grupero Music” will also take the stage with her emotional and passionate lyrics about life.
The Fiesta Mexicana Tour will make you sing and feel the Latin culture that Corpus Christi area has embraced for so long and take you back to those treasured memories of when you first heard Fernandez’ signature voice. Barbara's interpretation of the sounds of Mexico's heartland earned her a royal title in Mexico and a place in the hearts of adoring fans across the continent.
“El Ranchero de Oro” has been reigning over the Latin music industry since he won a Guadalajara singing contest more than 40 years ago. Fernandez broke the barriers of mariachi music by reaching mass audiences and touching the lives of several generations. Throughout the years, Fernandez has performed in concert for millions of people.
Fernandez has said that his greatest accomplishment was when he filled La Plaza de Mexico in Mexico City. He asked Mexican authorities not to charge the public for this concert, and vowed to stop singing if he did not attract a capacity crowd. The cold and rainy weather that day did not keep the 54,000 fans from attending what still stands today as the largest gathering of an audience of any concert at La Plaza de Mexico.
