July 25, 2005 - The American Bank Center and SMG are working to make the facility more accommodating for persons with disabilities through employee training. SMG employees will participate in Americans with Disabilities Training led by Aaron McCullough with the Disability Law Resource Project on Monday, July 25. McCullough conducts similar trainings throughout Texas on all aspects of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and he produces material on disability law issues.
The training will focus on customer service, sensitivity, and awareness for persons with disabilities. According to a 2001 Cornell University study, approximately 14 percent of Americans have some form of disability. The session will help ensure that persons with disabilities enjoy the same access and experience afforded to any individual who enters the facility. This training will effectively deliver information to employees so they are equipped with the knowledge necessary to help persons with disabilities while at the American Bank Center.
Efforts to better accommodate all of our guests at the American Bank Center are not only a priority, but they are regularly addressed. SMG and the American Bank Center will continue to work with the community to meet the needs of persons with disabilities. |
