Week in Review
Game 4 of the season saw the Sharks travel north to take on the Arkansas Twisters at Altell Arena in Little Rock, it was a night that saw Corpus Christi get knocked around by an experienced Twisters team 93 - 19. The Twisters took advantage of a Sharks team that saw it’s starting QB John De Los Santos go down just before halftime with an injury to his left leg. Corpus Christi was never able to generate anything in the second half and fell to 0-4 with the loss.

The Corpus Christi Sharks will be home again May 5th as they get their first look at divisional rival the Bossier-Shreveport Battelwings on Saturday night with a 7:05 kickoff from Radiology Associates Field at the American Bank Center. Former Dallas Cowboys QB Quincy Carter will make his one lone appearance for Bossier-Shreveport at the American Bank Center that night. Pioneers Solidify No. 1 Ranking In Week 6 Coaches Poll
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers have maintained the No. 1 ranking of the Weekly Coaches Poll for the second straight week, the arenafootball2 (af2) league office announced today. The Pioneers collected 460 of a possible 464 points and 26-of-30 first place votes in securing the top position. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (4-0) scored an impressive, 94-25, home win in Week 5 against Cincinnati to solidify their claim to the top spot.
The Tulsa Talons (4-0, 416 points, 3 first place votes) held firm at the No. 2 spot on the strength of a 57-33 home win Saturday against Alabama. The Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings (4-0, 407 points, 1 first place vote) also maintained their position at No. 3 overall after a 64-45 home win against the Laredo Lobos. Rounding out the Top 5 this week are the South Georgia Wildcats (3-1, 325 points) and Arkansas Twisters (3-1, 275 points). South Georgia is coming off a bye in Week 5 while Arkansas won its home opener in convincing fashion, 93-19, on Saturday against Corpus Christi.
Each week during the season af2 coaches will vote for the Top 16 teams in the league by ranking them one through 16 on a ballot. Teams ranked first receive 16 points with the point value decreasing by one for each place below first, meaning a team ranked 16th would receive one point. Total points will determine the Top 16 list. In the event of a tie in total points, the team with the greater number of first-place votes will be ranked higher. The af2 Coaches Poll will be announced every Wednesday during the regular season. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team and the poll results have no bearing on postseason qualification.
