Sharks Week in Review

June 28, 2007 - Last Saturday night your Corpus Christi Sharks and the Laredo Lobos met for the first time this season in a battle between two of the League’s newest members.

The lead changed hands several times in the early stages and with 22 seconds left in the half Laredo scored to tie the game at 20. The Sharks though would steal the momentum right back as QB John De Los Santos lead the Sharks down the field in two quick plays capped by an incredible touchdown pass off the end net into the hands of WR Randy Davis and Corpus Christi went to the half with a 27-20 lead. The Sharks then scored on their first possession of the second half as Steve Smith caught his 3rd touchdown of the night to extend the Sharks lead to 14 points.

Laredo pulled within 10 points with 3:42 left in the game but the Sharks responded immediately and sealed the win on their next possession with an 8 yard touchdown pass from De Los Santos to WR Brandon Hussey.

Corpus Christi kicker Chris Onorato had a personal best 51 yard field goal in the second quarter and was perfect on all extra points. The 55 points scored by the Sharks was also a season best for points scored in a game.

NOTE: The Randy Davis catch of the net was named the Cutters Catch of the week in af2.
