The American Bank Center Convention Center, formerly known as Bayfront Plaza Convention Center, underwent major expansion and renovation which was completed November 2004. New spaces were added and the remaining facilities have been renovated and redecorated to blend naturally with the new additions to the American Bank Center.
From sparkling glass to Texas limestone, the center's facilities are a pleasure to see and experience. The 76,000 sq. ft. of exhibit halls, two ballrooms, and 21 meeting rooms include:
• A large, glass encased entrance with a circular drive for vehicle drop–off and a covered entrance just steps from the Corpus Christi Bay.
• The Grand Foyer Lobby with a magnificent view of the bay, centralized with easy access to all venues at the American Bank Center.
• The Henry Garrett Ballroom, a 20,000 sq. ft. ballroom, created with an outstanding 7,000 sq. ft. pre-function area that overlooks the Corpus Christi Bay from 20 feet above the ground floor.
• Several meeting rooms on the ground level, registration areas, easy access to the Selena Auditorium, kitchens, escalators, elevators and stairways.
Whether the event is a private party for 50 or a convention for 5,000, the American Bank Center is a premier location.

When planning an event at the American Bank Center Convention Center, our security professionals are trained to oversee your needs and comfort. SMG managed and trained, the operations department will see you have the team members you will need for a secure and safe environment. Ask your event coordinator for details and guidelines.
All guests entering the arena during an event are subject to a search of their person and their property, this includes a visual inspection and a bag inspection conducted by American Bank Center security personnel. The purpose of the inspection is to detect prohibited items such as weapons, audio/video equipment, professional photography equipment, glass bottles, metal cans, food and beverage, etc. All large bags, backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, etc. will be prohibited from entry into the arena.
Guests are prohibited from bringing weapons into the arena. American Bank Center does not provide weapon lockers. Weapons may not be checked in at guest services. Weapons include, but are not limited to, the following:
Firearms, explosives, stun guns, handcuffs, brass knuckles, sticks, clubs, batons, martial arts instruments, pepper spray, tear gas, knives with blades over 2” in length.
Guests found in possession of the above-mentioned items will be asked to remove the item from the arena or dispose of it. Guests who refuse to comply will be ejected from the arena and may be subject to arrest.
Savor is American Bank Center's premier in-house Catering and Concession Service. Their goal is to provide your event with the imagination and attention to detail that will guarantee success. From the boardroom to the Ballroom, 15 attendees to 1500, they are experts in catering to any size event. With offices and newly designed kitchens located at the Center, this is key to their service and staff being efficient and in-tune with your function's needs.
